Mike Bandman | |
|
Mike Bandman has been the band
director at Viking Middle School in Gurnee since 1982 and a director in
District 56 since his graduation from the University of Illinois in
1979, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education.
In 1986, he was nominated and accepted into the Illinois Chapter of Phi
Beta Mu, a professional organization recognizing achievement in music
education. In 1987 he directed the concert band at the Illinois Summer
Youth Music Camp held at Champaign-Urbana. In 1996, he was selected for
“Who’s Who Among American Teachers”. In 1999 he received the
Chicagoland Outstanding Music Educator Award from the Quinlan &
Fabish Music Company. He has also served as an adjudicator for
solo-ensemble, concert band, and jazz band contests in Illinois, and
spent a few summers as the assistant director of the Waukegan Municipal
Band. |

Ruth Moore has been a part of the
Gurnee District 56 band program since 1982. Before coming to Gurnee,
she was a band director in Bement, Illinois for grades 5-12. Ms. Moore
has a bachelors degree from Eastern Illinois University and a masters
degree from the University of Illinois. |

At the University of Illinois, Mr.
Worth majored in bassoon and played percussion in the marching band. He
graduated from the U of I in the fall of 1979 with a B.S. in Music
Education. In 1989 he received his Masters degree in Music Ed. from
VanderCook College of Music in Chicago. He has taught at Viking School
for 21 years. Sixteen and a half years as the 7th and 8th grades
vocal/general music instructor, and four and a half years as the sixth
grade instrumental/general music instructor. |
